Online salvage auction company Copart added a new member to its board of directors this month. Carl Sparks, managing partner of Dallas-based venture capital firm Interlock Partners, was selected for the role. His company, shared by Copart, focuses on early stage “transformative” technology companies.
Sparks also brings past experience as a director of a public company, including in the automotive industry. He has served on the boards of directors of the Avis Budget group in the automotive industry, where he was also chairman of the audit committee, as well as on the boards of directors of Dunkin ‘Brands Group and Vonage Holdings.
Prior to his current role at Interlock Partners, Sparks worked as a Senior Advisor at Bain Capital. He has also worked in the following companies over the years: Academic Partnerships, Travelocity Global, Glit Group, Expedia.com and Boston Consulting Group.
In May, earlier this year, Copart made another choice for the board, with the addition of Cherylyn Harley LeBon, who is currently a partner at Washington, DC-based law firm Dunlap, Bennett & Ludwig She is a member of the firm’s practice in corporate and government contracts.
